Well, I now know what downed powerlines look like when they are only feet from your car, and I am very very glad we did not get to the intersection where they came down 15 or so seconds eariler as they would have come down on top of us. First time in my life I have ever run into the house and poured myself a very large drink just to calm down. But we are not electrocuted, so all is well. Thank you to whomever was looking out for us last night!

I also hope that the girl who I saw on the way to work is going to be ok - it looks like she was on a bike that got hit by a car. Having been on a bike that was hit by a car (fortunately only as they were turning so no real damage done), I can empathize. I did call 911 and they were already aware of it, which was good.

I may need another large drink if this keeps up, though. :P
