Warning: This post contains spoilers about the season ender for Doctor Who. Ye have been warned!
I loved so much about this episode - Naked!Ten for starters. Yum.
The actor playing Davros was freakin' FANTASTIC. My husband actually came home in time to see most of the best Davros bits and agreed. Super creepy.
K-9! *does Kermit flail* YAAAAY!
RTD got rid of the half-human nonsense from the TV movie. Halle-fuckin-lujah! Love Eight to pieces, didn't mind the kissing, but...oh, how I hated that.
*of course, you can argue about him sticking to it with making the hand-clone half-human, but he referred very specifically to Ten lacking that little human touch so I argue that he got rid of it. So there. :P *
Hm. Gwen and Ianto feel like rather an afterthought this episode. Pity, that.
The fact the TARDIS needs six people to pilot it properly is a little silly, but it does explain why everyone tends to go flying everywhere while it is in flight. Doesn't explain why it flew perfectly smoothly in Old Who, though. :)
The whole TARDIS towing the Earth back, again, kinda silly. And the celebration stories on the news caused a brief eyeroll, but made sense. I did like that it caused things to get all jumbled - not a smooth ride for the Earth, nope. And that was fine.
Mickey is back on Earth. I know the speculation about him joining Torchwood was essentially shot down because he's doing something else, but I wouldn't mind him showing up. There. I said it. You may all laugh and point now. I don't care. I like Mickey.
Jackie's line about naming the baby Doctor and him actually believing her for half a second - priceless.
Rose gets her very own Ten. But it's human Ten so we get to keep our Timelord Ten. *more Kermit flail* YAAAAAY! (And yay for Rose, too!!!)
But...but...oh, my Donna. She suffered a fate WORSE than death. To have that and then have to have it taken away? I really honestly would have rather her died permanently. There are very very few times I dislike Doctor Who. Things that make people scream in frustration, I can deal with. But there are some things I hated. The whole half-human thing was one. The giant Donna reset button with the extra knife in the back that she can never remember or her brain will go foom? I HATED that.
So, overall, while there was a lot I loved in the the episode - even with finding some things silly - I am feeling bitter about Donna right now. I will probably get over it, at least to the point where the things I loved will overtake the thing I really hated. But right now? Yeah. Bitter.
